Once upon a time there was an exhibition in Paris

Jacques Tati, deux temps, trois mouvements

Zu dieser Ausstellung gab es ein Plakat.
Es zeigte:
Tati mit seinem Filmneffen auf einem Fahrrad.
Tati wie gewohnt mit Tabakspfeife im Mund.
(Jener Pfeife, die in keinem seiner Filme je brannte.)
Die Bürokratie nahm Anstoß:
wegen des bestehenden Werbeverbots für Rauchwaren
mußte das Plakat retouchiert werden.
Die Pfeife mußte verschwinden.
Constantin Costa-Gavras, Direktor der Cinématheque francaise, wurde zitiert:
" ... absurd und lächerlich ... "
Es gab 2000 Plakate.

A poster was created for this exhibition.
It showed:
Tati with his movie-nephew on a bicycle.
Tati as always with a tobacco-pipe in his mouth.
(The pipe that was never lit in any of his movies.)
The bureaucracy took exception:
because of the existing ban on advertisement for tobacco products
the poster had to be retouched.
The pipe had to vanish.
Constantin Costa-Gavras, Director of the Cinématheque francaise, was quoted:
" ... absurd and ridiculous ... "
There were 2000 posters ...

Lachen hilft nicht !
Es ist nicht lächerlich !
Was für Hirne sind in der Lage, so etwas ernsthaft zu entscheiden ?
Die Festplatten von Bürokratie-Robotern ...
Wozu sind solche Hirne fähig ?
Möge nie der Tag kommen, an dem diese über Leben und Tod, über Freiheit und Unfreiheit zu entscheiden haben ...
Deshalb ist das nicht lächerlich !
Es ist ein gefährliches Symptom für die Allmacht der Bürokratie über das reale Leben !
Vom juristischen Standpunkt her gesehen ist alles korrekt.

To laugh does not help !
It is no laughing matter !
What sort of brains are able to make such decisions ?
The harddrives of bureaucracy-robots ...
What are such brains capable of ?
May there never come a day, when such brains are responsible for decisions about life and death, about freedom and unfreedom ...
That is why this is no laughing matter !
It is a dangerous symptom of the omnipotence of bureaucracy over real life !
From the legal point of view everything is correct.
